Job Description

Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment, a talent for business development and expertise in communications. The role requires supporting the delivery of ECO’s employment programs and creating stronger engagement with our French audience.

As a key member of the customer engagement team, the Program Coordinator will work with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure we provide superior front-end customer service and ensure all French communication activities are cohesive and productive. The overall goal of the position is to build and maintain strong customer relationships with the French market.

Responsibilities include:

Administration

  • Conduct clerical duties such as filing, answering phone calls, preparing documents. 
  • Provide administrative support for ongoing projects 
  • Perform some bookkeeping and reporting 
  • Proof read and format specifications, reports, templates and other documents 
  • Schedule meetings and make travel arrangements 
  • Reception coverage and other general office duties as assigned.

 

Customer Service

  • Becoming expert in the customer relationship management system that tracks new and existing customer activities
  • Providing French language support for customers who need assistance with understanding our programs and services
  • Responding to inquiries from our French-Canadian audience, both via phone and email
  • Scheduling and supporting applicant to certified member process by facilitating the potential member through applicant requirements

Customer Acquisition

  • Developing strong relationships with environmental employers in Quebec
  • Executing communication initiatives that increases the growth of our French-Canadian audience
  • Participating in on-site presentations and virtual conferences to promote ECO Canada’s programs

French Content Development

  • Lead the copy translation requirements for various print and digital content pieces including website, social media, email and program literature
  • Support website, email and social media content development by implementing updates and additions
  • Proofreading and checking copy and documents to ensure quality control is maintained
  • Act as a liaison and point person with various external partners and vendors

Marketing Support

  • Assist team with execution of in-person events and tradeshows including tasks such as logistics management, collateral development, and message syndication
  • Other special project assistance may be required

Qualifications and Education

  • Superior communication skills in writing and presenting in both French and English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to connect with people in working in all areas of the environment sector
  • Great attitude and ability to maintain control while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • High level of phone confidence and professionalism in all modes of communication
  • Desire to work in a results-focused environment
  • Motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn and a willingness to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Able to measure success metrics and identify trends
  • Previous knowledge or desire to learn about Canada’s environmental workforce
  • Post-secondary education in the field of business, communications, human services or related discipline
  • Two to three years of experience in a customer relationship role
  • Expertise in MS Office, particularly with Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in various digital platforms such as Wordpress CMS, Social Media, and Adobe
  • Comfortable with working in Contact Management databases
  • Must be fluent in French and English

 

This role is a full-time position, with a three-month probationary period upon start date.
